Explore South America
Zig Zag Airlines follows the Inca trail:
The Inca Empire was connected through roads and trails, just like our highways today.
Between the most northern capital Quito, Equator and even further south than
Santiago,
Chile some 25,000 miles of roads created a giant network. Some climbed over mountains as
high as 16,000 feet and others followed the coastline. There were two main north-southbound
trails. In the east the route passed over the mountains and hills from Quito,
Ecuador to Mendoza, Argentina. In the west the route followed the coastline
unless, in desert areas it swerved along the foothills.
The use of the roads was restricted for official, military and transportation purposes.
Individuals required permits. Even if a lot of trails had been created centuries before
the Inca claimed exclusive right. Toll charges were implied for certain areas and bridges.
Zig Zag Airlines is getting ready to launch a one week trip to
discover the highlights of the South
American culture. We are exited to soon introduce another fascinating travel option with our Airline.
